Ford’s Buffalo Stamping Plant is investing $150,000 to boost STEM education and workforce preparation for over 8,300 local youth in Western New York.
The funds will create new STEM & Workforce Labs in seven Boys & Girls Clubs, spanning communities from Buffalo to Orchard Park.
These labs will open doors for kids to pursue technical and skilled-trade careers in high demand.
The effort is part of the Ford Future Workforce Initiative, exposing young people to robotics, engineering, design, and green tech.
Each club receives start-up support for equipment and materials, plus specialized training through the regional Boys & Girls Clubs Collaborative.
Youth will gain hands-on experience and be inspired to become builders and innovators—skills vital for the future of manufacturing in the region.

Wyoming County is emerging as a major force in New York’s drive for renewable energy with the Alle-Catt Wind Energy Center led by Invenergy LLC.
The $1.3 billion project plans to install 83 wind turbines across 10,000 acres in Wyoming, Cattaraugus, and Allegany counties, aiming to generate 340 megawatts—enough to power 134,000 homes annually.
In the Town of Arcade, up to 10 turbines will soon rise, marking a significant step for the region’s clean energy efforts.
The Wyoming County Industrial Development Agency backed the initiative with a $17.5 million incentive package to help offset rising costs.
Construction is expected to finish by late 2026, aligning with New York’s goal of 70% renewable electricity by 2030.
Beyond bringing over 400 jobs, the center will generate valuable tax revenues and reaffirm Wyoming County’s dedication to sustainability. Read More... |
